Vision Of A Murder Has To Do With Evangelism

21 July 2012 3 Comments

Hi,

I don’t often receive letters like the following but it made interesting reading.  What do you think? Is the interpretation correct? The letter is written by a balanced, mature, seasoned Christian.

“Hi Julian
Below is a very graphic dream i belive was given by God 2 nights ago.  It was very graphic and very real.
I dreamt that a man was about to murder a woman. With sly words he convinced another to help him. In the end, the man who was decieved into helping actually commited the murder and not the original man, he simply sat content that he had somebody else commit the crime.I awoke feeling very troubled by this, asking God if He was in that dream. Over the past two days he revealed this to me:

The original man about to kill the woman was the devil. The innocent man represents the body of Christ. The devil is successfully using Christians to condemn the unsaved to Hell and that the Church is being an unwitting partner to this. The church is currently bring death not life (generally speaking).

It is time for Christians to wake up to the devils devices and to no longer be unwitting partners in the devils work.

Julian, please continue being one to encourage and build up the church to evangelize.
Yours in Him
Matt D”

I wonder if this has something to do with the Church preaching another gospel, such as the prosperity or signs and wonders only and not a Gospel of sacrifice of ourselves for the sake of CHRIST.
The preaching of the cross is not only the one that JESUS carried to His death but it is ours also.
Our walk is one of self denial, much of what we hear now is one where we get all from GOD and demands little of ourselves for the sake of CHRIST.
I heard a chap say once in his testilmony that his salvation cost him nothing and life after was real easy. I don’t beleive JESUS taught that, rather He said we would be persecuted for His namesake and that we would be shunned by the world. Put in perspective the Church would seem to fit in well with the world around it at the moment, it may even be difficult to see any real difference in the modern Church and the worldly establishments.
When a new Christain comes into the fold with these concepts then it would be easy to see why they very quickly fall away when things start getting tough.

    Hi Julian,

I identify with the dream of Matt D. As a rule I am very cautious about the interpretation of dreams.

From the window of my life- I constantly observe an apathy & lack of urgency from many christians to convey the ‘good news’ of salvation to the unsaved.

It reminds me of the quote by Edmund Burke – 1729.
“All that is necessary for evil to prosper is that good men do nothing”.

We have been given a mandate by Christ- this is tell the ‘good news’
to all men – a requirement as our loving duty – not an option.

I was one of the multitudes without hope- who was ready.
I searched to know the Truth. I would have been saved a lot earlier if someone had shared the gospel.
It would have alleviated a lot of heart ache, sadness, confusion & fear of the future.

    Love in Christ,
    Lorraine Wilson

    Hi Lorraine
Wow! A powerful perspective about which we all need to be reminded.
    Every blessing
