I am continually amazed at how God is working in His sovereign power to draw people to Himself.
The encounter I had last night was a CLASSIC example.
I had a meeting with someone at 6pm in a certain location. Without going into all the details, I got the meeting place completely wrong.  I sent him a text and we agree to meet the next day in the right location.
I hadn’t given the gospel to anyone that day so I looked around. I wanted to make the most of the time I …

Recently I heard someone (Joe) say that to win the lost we must scratch where people itch.
For example, if people are lonely, offer friendship; if hungry, food; if hopeless, give hope; if sick, offer healing, etc.
The thought this person was conveying to me was that evangelism (i.e. proclaiming the gospel to someone) didn’t scratch where people itch because people were not looking for God or desiring Him.
He told me that the most effective way to win the lost was to discover their felt need and meet that need.
What should we …

Getting onto a flight in Auckland en route to Wellington, I was served by these two staff members at Jet Star.
It was so easy to turn the conversation onto spiritual things and hand them a biblein11.com card.
I said “How’s your day going?” as they processed our baggage and we chatted in reply.
Then I said “I am going to Wellington to work with a church. Have you guys had any church background?”
He said yes, she no.
“Let me ask you a question. What’s the best selling book in the world?”
They didn’t know.
I …

This morning around 7:30am I was buying some things at Countdown supermarket.
The guy in front of me at check out was asked by the teller if he had a ‘One Card’.  If you have one of these loyalty cards, the supermarket gives a small discount on purchases.
He replied he didn’t have one.
I was listening to the conversation so I said ‘Do you want to use my one?’
His eyes lit up and jumped at the idea.
I saved him 70 cents. Whoopee!
He was happy. Smiling, he thanked me. I knew what I …

Recently, I was looking at an offshore church web site, and I read the following:
Our Vision
We believe we are called to
Reveal the glory of God’s Kingdom
This vision is based on a conviction that God’s purpose, in and through Jesus, is to restore His entire creation to its original glorious perfection, where His reign is universally accepted and acknowledged. The mission of His people is to demonstrate here and now what that looks like helping others see and experience and marvel at what God’s reign, God’s will being done on earth …

Hi everyone,
The following email arrived today. What’s the lesson here? If we plan to evangelise, we will.
If we don’t, we won’t.
Many people would have missed these opportunities, but Maryna “saw” them, even created them, because she had prepared her heart to create them before she left home.
This is the secret.
Heart preparation, and definite intention. Daily.
This is something Jesus modeled so beautifully. God bless you Maryna. You set out on your day like Jesus set out from Heaven. You are a shining example for us all my friend!

Many leaders I talk to are expressing their desire to see the five fold ministries (detailed in Ephesians 4:11-14)  humming in a local church setting.
Their BIG question is this: “where have all the evangelists gone?”
The answer? They are sitting in virtually every church.
Sometimes this gifted person doesn’t even realise they are one.
They are a bit like Paul Potts and Susan Boyle who were ordinary people “discovered” during “Britains Got Talent”. If you want to have a good cry, watch and listen to Paul Potts sing here.
I think God feels the …

The original missions mandate of Jesus, as expressed in His five Great Commission announcements, was to evangelise the world. So, what’s ‘evangelism?’
To evangelise, is spread or proclaim the gospel. So what’s ‘the gospel’?
The gospel has three aspects: words, works, and effects.
Most churches are currently focussing on the works of the gospel (i.e. good works), leaving out the words.  To evangelise is to use words.  The original mandate had this in mind – that every person on the face of the earth would hear and understand the words of the gospel …

Hey Julian, what do we say when my pastor says “evangelism is not the only way to save people, or to reach people and bring them into God’s Kingdom.”
Is there another simple answer? a biblical answer?
Some thoughts on this would be awesome, as this is the main challenge I have faced over the years when evangelism is mentioned.   My pastor doesn’t think that mobilising the church to preach the gospel is necessary.  As long as people are saved and end up in his church – this is all that matters.
Thanks, Bill.

Hi everyone,
The following is an email I received from a friend overseas. He is a pastor of a church.

His real name is not Andrew.

What he writes sounds ‘right’ and ‘biblical’ and ‘spiritual’ but in actual fact, there is a powerful device of the enemy embedded in this email. Of course, there is truth in the text, and lots of it, which makes the device hard to detect.
The device in amongst the truth is stopping evangelism. Can you spot it?

Sad to say, but much of this reasoning has invaded the Church …

Hi everyone,
For those of you who are praying for our ministry, I thought I would encourage you.  Your prayers are being answered.
We had people from as far away as Tairua in the Coromandel and Auckland attend.
There was a heavy sense of the presence of God in the conference from time to time.
One person wrote on their evaluation form “An incredible day. Totally inspiring and encouraging!”
Several people has been to other DNA change conferences and they commented that this one was the best yet. Firstly, the format is different. There is …

Hi everyone,
Most Christians feel they are safe from the attacks of the enemy, right? We have the mind of Christ, right? The Word? The Holy Spirit?
Yet, research shows our minds are VERY vulnerable to attack,  especially when it comes to evangelism and the Great Commission.  Do the test below and find out just how principalities and powers and infiltrated your mind without you knowing. You’ll be amazed how he’s done it!

This is a must see video from Charles Stanley on evangelism.  It’s so encouraging to see a world class leader supporting the DNA change conferences. My dream would be to have every church leader in the world watch this video, and act on his teaching. Enjoy!

My name is Graeme and recently I attended a very stimulating DNA conference that Julian was speaking at in Hamilton, New Zealand.
Last Sunday afternoon I was at a loose end.  My wife had gone to hear  the Sunset Symphony, so I decided to go to the bus terminal to hand out a few www.biblein11.com cards. My home is near this terminal.
When I got to the terminal, I went up to an old car in which a young guy and his wife were sitting in.   I gave out a card and …
