Take me to Church!

30 June 2010 No Comment

Today when I was out evangelising,  I met a young man in his twenties from the Philipines. He was in a shopping mall, philipinoeating some KFC by himself. I approached him in the usual way, and asked him if he would like to watch an 11 minutes video of the Bible. He said yes.  I sat beside him as he watched, and I was praying in my mind, not out loud. To my surprise, half way through the presentation, he stopped the video to tell me he was a Catholic. I said God didn’t care what church a person belonged to, as long as they truly knew God – that they were born again. He then asked me what church I belonged to, and I told him. This led to more questions about the Christian church, and especially the difference between all the churches. So I drew this diagram for him which I have used hundreds of times to explain explain the difference between Protestants and Catholics and all the Protestant denominations. You can see this on YouTube.  Anyway, after the explanation, he asked for my phone number and said this: “I am on a journey with God and would like to come to church with you. Can I have your email address and phone number please?’  Of course I did this. But here is the point – there are people everywhere in every town who are being drawn by God to Himself.  If we don’t go to them with the gospel, how will they hear? (Romans 10:15).  This man’s name is Dexter.  I will let you know how he gets on at Church when I take him! How cool is that!
